1. Free 10 Minute Consult Call

A brief call that gives us a chance to understand what you’re looking for and answer any questions you may have. We will talk about your goals, your concerns, and whether our practice is the right fit for your needs.

Please review our patient policies and guidelines prior to the call. If not already provided, a copy is available upon request.

2. Insurance & Rates

We are in-network with:

Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield (Empire)

Commercial plans only. We do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or any plan linked to them, including Medicare Advantage and managed Medicaid plans.

Private Pay Rate: $300 per appointment

With in-network insurance, your cost per visit is set by your plan (your copay or deductible rate). Headway verifies your exact cost before your first appointment, so there are no surprises.

3. Initial Intake Appointment (60 minutes)

Your first full visit focuses on understanding your history, symptoms, and goals so we can create a personalized treatment plan. Medications are not prescribed during the intake. If appropriate, medication may be started at your first follow-up visit.

Before your intake, you will receive an email from Headway to create your account and complete all required forms, consents, and insurance verification. These forms must be completed before your appointment or the visit may need to be rescheduled.

4. Follow-Up Visits (30 minutes)

Follow-up appointments review progress, make medication adjustments, and support your ongoing well-being.

If medication is started:

  • Your first follow-up must be within one week
  • Weekly visits are required until your dose is stable
  • Once stable, follow-ups are spaced out based on your needs
5. Telehealth Platform

All sessions take place virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Your appointment link will be sent by email and text.

We are licensed in New York and can only treat patients who are physically in New York State at the time of their session.

6. What We Don’t Provide

To ensure safety and appropriate care, we do not provide:

  • Emergency or crisis services
  • Court-ordered evaluations
  • Disability paperwork
  • Accommodation paperwork (school, work, housing, etc.)
  • Forensic evaluations
  • Letters for legal cases
  • Chronic benzodiazepine prescribing

If you’re experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

7. Attendance Policy

Please join your appointment on time. We offer a 15-minute grace period. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, incur a $200 no-show fee.

8. Communication Guidelines

Four ways to reach us, and how private each one is:

9. Headway Account Setup & Required Forms

You must:

Headway will complete your insurance verification. If forms are incomplete or unverified, your appointment may be rescheduled. You may also receive digital assessments before appointments when clinically appropriate.
