About Dr. Amanda Joseph
Joseph Psychiatry was founded by Dr. Amanda Joseph, a board-certified psychiatrist who holds both an MD and an MBA. Dr. Joseph completed her residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, one of the highest-volume and highest-acuity psychiatric programs in New York. As chief resident, she gained extensive experience in psychiatric emergency care as well as inpatient and outpatient settings. This work shaped her ability to meet patients with a practical and supportive approach.
Dr. Joseph serves as the medical director of Joseph Psychiatry and remains actively involved in supporting the clinical team. Our nurse practitioners and physician assistants are experienced licensed providers who work collaboratively within our practice and can draw on her expertise when needed. Expanding our care team allows us to reach more individuals in need of mental health support while maintaining the thoughtful and high quality care that defines our practice.
Dr. Joseph actively serves her local church community. She also sits on the board of a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential resources and medical care for underserved individuals in the United States and Africa. Joseph Psychiatry proudly supports this important work through charitable contributions.
Outside of work, Dr. Joseph enjoys traveling with her husband and two children. Since her kids are big animal lovers, their trips usually include zoos, aquariums, or anything with wildlife. She also loves cooking and often incorporates recipes inspired by her Indian heritage. Her family’s favorite dish is her homemade mango pie.
